Out of the gallery - El Raval

The gallery is a space that is ripped out from everyday reality. The work Out of the Gallery / El Raval belongs to a series of videos that were created as a look out of the gallery, into a street where life flows regardless of the ongoing exhibition.

The La Xina Gallery, where my exhibition Eva - Edit - Eden took place, is located in a specific part of Barcelona, El Raval. Despite its proximity to the center, the district is characterized by high crime rates, in particular theft and drug distribution. The video captures women cleaning the streets, taking a regular break in front of the gallery. Their work correlates with the theme of the exhibition - they are women who, with their small daily work, improve / edit the face of the city.
