Stolen Stories
2021, site specific installation using the found objects
The installation Stolen Stories was created as an output of a residency in Romania. The residency studio was in the former pioneer house building, where I found a box with black and white photographs from the 1970s and 1980s. These years were marked by the dictatorial regime of Nicolae Ceaușescu in Romania, which greatly affected people's daily lives. The title of the installation refers both to my "stealing" part of the stories of unknown people through their photographs, and to the stolen time due to political unfreedom. The installation of photographs on the old carpets expresses the interference of politics in individual households.
